Ted Bosen

Director

Ted Bosen is a respected Clan Chief of the Wugalgal Clan — the foundational clan group of the Mualgal people of Moa Island — carrying an inheritance of leadership and cultural authority passed down from his father, grandfather, and generations before them.

His role represents deep cultural responsibility, upholding the continuation of sacred lore, customary governance, traditional protocol and ancestral law within Mualgal society.

Ted holds extensive knowledge of traditional land and sea practices, and is highly regarded as a skilled hunter, seafarer and cultural knowledge holder.

His understanding of traditional navigation, totemic obligations and seasonal harvesting cycles ensures cultural values, law and Country remain protected, honoured and practised appropriately.

In addition to his cultural leadership, Ted brings more than 40 years of professional experience in civil construction, land restoration and land-based project delivery, including practical on-Country works across the region.

His combined knowledge — cultural and technical — enables him to ground contemporary development activities in the authority of Country and Mualgal protocol.

As a leader, Ted remains committed to safeguarding traditional knowledge, responsibility to land, and the cultural rights of Mualgal people, while strengthening sustainable economic development and community resilience across the Torres Strait for future generations.
